About

I have worked with children, teens and adults in Community Mental Health for nearly 20 years. I have extensive experience working with teenagers with emotional dysregulation and self-harm, anxiety and depression. My area of interest are working with people with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, trauma and perinatal mental health. I also enjoy working with other psychologists and health professionals who are seeking their own therapy.

Humans have a need to feel understood and to make sense of our worlds and ourselves. Therapy is one way we can achieve this deep sense of understanding. I have training in a number of different treatments and while I think strategies and skills-based treatment can be helpful for some clients, I also believe in the power of “plain old therapy”.

Curiosity and authenticity are important to me, and I try to be myself with clients. Humour and play are essential parts of a good life and I use humour a lot in therapy, especially when working with children and teens ( I know this website doesn’t exactly ooze funny but trust me….).
